Using Social Media - Darren's 10 Do's and Don'ts

- 1. Don't just post jobs to Twitter; break them up with other content to keep the audience engaged
- 2. Don't post a job to Twitter without a hash tag
- 3. Don't post jobs to your Facebook wall - you "spam" your followers
- 4. Do supply useful content about your company and industry
- 5. Do treat LinkedIn as a "business networking tool" as well as a candidate sourcing tool
- 6. Do take a look at Pinterest but don't get carried away
- 7. Do write a blog
- 8. Don't use it to "sell" - but to educate and inform
- 9. Do use YouTube
- 10. Don't be frightened of any of these channels
