Job Boards are being used smartly BUT is social media - An interview with Darren Brown
09 July 2012
What are the trends you've seen this year?
- Big increase in flat fee firms
- Contingency agencies now offering a fixed fee solution to compete
- Over the last 18 months, people increasingly want to understand about social media. BUT they're not sure what they want from it.
- In the last 6 months, there has been a decrease in the use of job boards by Recruitment Consultancies - they are reducing the number of job boards used per post
- Recruitment Consultancies are also dropping "Free Boards" but using more niche boards
- BUT they are using CV search much more and are focusing more on sourcing not posting
- They are using social media to post jobs to in growing volumes
- Job boards are going niche as clients want niche "candidates"
How do you see the Recruitment Consultancy market developing?
- 1. They are always going to be part of the UK recruitment market but they need to evolve
- 2. Niche is "big" but generalist recruiters are finding it hard
- 3. Our agency client-base is still growing revenues and they are doing this by going niche, this is true in the "hard-to-fill sectors" - IT, Finance and Engineering
- 4. Our clients are recruiting more consultants and are expanding
Where will social media fit in to your model and therefore, your clients?
- 1. We have built our own Facebook tab and we are seeing growing interest in Facebook
- 2. Integrated into OhMyJob - a job board that sits inside Facebook
- 3. More integration such as searching on LinkedIn or posting jobs to Twitter and Facebook
